The adapter gets rid of the HP dv6 complaining that it needed a higher power adapter to reach full performance. However it causes a loud 60Hz buzz in the audio, the origional adapter that came with HP did not cause a buzz.
This buzz only happens when the new adapter is used with the headphone out hooked up to an amplifier through an audio switch which also has the TV audio on it.
So it seems that the new adapter causes a ground loop with the TV that is on the audio switch, which worked fine with the origional adapter.
In conclusion the new adapter works ok, just have to remove the TV audio connectors on the audio switch that goes to the amplifier. So beware of possible audio problems with some systems.
